Exploration of course work and career pathways for humanities, social science, and physical science majors in the College of Arts and Letters. Course materials designed for lower-division students to acquire a breadth of knowledge of college resources and career options.
Applied Internship Experience
Supervised internship with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. Introduces professional skills, reflection, and workplace learning. Students connect academic knowledge to applied contexts and develop foundational career readiness competencies.
Advanced internship integrating academic study with professional practice. Students create a learning agreement, engage in reflection, and complete an integrative project demonstrating workplace analysis, career competencies, and professional skills growth.

Master the modern job search. This course covers résumés and interviewing while giving you access to Google Certificates and AI software

How to Earn Academic Credit
Follow these steps to ensure your internship is recognized for credit toward your degree.
- Secure Your Role: You must have an internship offer before you can apply for academic credit.
- Identify Your Course: Determine which course (e.g., CAL 295, 495, etc.) fits your major requirements and unit needs.
- Register for Credit: Enroll in the appropriate internship course via the student portal during the semester you are working.
- Position Approval: Coordinate with your instructor or the CAL Internship Coordinator to submit your site details for final approval.
- Complete & Reflect: Successfully complete your required internship hours and any associated course assignments.
