Journals
The San Diego State University Press (SDSU Press) is the oldest university press in the California State University system and is housed within the College of Arts and Letters. It is home to several journals, including:
- "Board Cultures: The International Journal of Surfing and Skateboarding Studies" is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that respects and values diversity. It publishes cutting-edge research about surfing and skateboarding, including their various offshoots like windsurfing and snowboarding. The journal values theoretical and methodological diversity and seeks to publish a wide range of scholarly work across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
- "pacificREVIEW: A West Coast Arts Review Annual" is a literary magazine that celebrates creativity by showcasing emerging and established writers and artists from the West Coast through poetry, fiction, prose, and visual art, with a particular emphasis on experimental and innovative works across various mediums.
- "Poetry International" is one of the oldest and most respected literary journals dedicated to publishing poetry from around the globe. Each issue brings together poems, portfolios, and prose representing a rich diversity of countries and languages, including translations from around the world.
- "Splice, the Journal of Undergraduate Research in SDSU's College of Arts and Letters," is an anthology of peer-reviewed publications produced by undergraduate students in the Splice Collective. The journal aims to promote research and creativity while providing a space for CAL students to build academic publishing skills.
