Bio
René De los Santos was raised in Chula Vista and earned both his B.A. and M.A. from San Diego State University before completing his Ph.D. at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As an alumnus of the Rhetoric and Writing Studies program at SDSU, René takes great pride in the department’s accomplishments and its growth into a nationally respected program. He is thrilled to return to SDSU and contribute to the continuing legacy of RWS.
Before coming back to San Diego, René taught in both Mexico and Chicago. His research focuses on Mexican and Latin American rhetorical history. Outside of academia, he enjoys traveling and exploring new places.
