Change of Program or StatusAdd/Drop (Current Semester)Students are responsible for any adjustments to their own schedule. (For the Fall 2007 semester, the last day to add a course, drop a course, change grading basis, withdraw from the university, or apply for course forgiveness was Monday, September 17th). All of these schedule changes must be initiated through the Office of the Registrar. Instructor-initiated drop policy: Students who do not attend the first session and the beginning of the second class session of a course MAY BE DROPPED from that course by the instructor within the first 12 days of the semester. Students who do not meet course prerequisites can also be dropped by the instructor during the first 12 days of the semester. Students who have been dropped by the instructor will be notified of the action by email. (Please make sure that e-Services Web Portal has your current email address on file.) Petition for Late Retroactive Change of Program Withdrawal or Add (Previous Semester)Obtain a petition from the Office of the Registrar. Follow the instructions on the form. Be sure to attach a statement from yourself as well as any supporting materials you may have to the petition before submitting it to the Office of the Registrar. A Late Change of Program is considered only with documentation of serious and compelling reasons. The Senate Policy on Late Withdrawal states that "After the last day of the semester, a student who wishes to change assigned grades to "W" grades must request to withdraw from the full semester's work; no requests for individual classes will be accepted." Withdrawal from the University"Withdrawing" means dropping all classes. Obtain a green Withdrawal Card from the Office of the Registrar (SS 1641). Follow the steps on the back of the card. Return the completed card to Office of the Registrar. |
