Greet the Professor Social

photo of three attendeesHighlighting the Third Annual "Greet the Professor" reception on March 15, 2007 was a special presentation on the Dead Sea Scrolls by Dr. Risa Levitt Kohn, curator of the exhibition coming this summer to the San Diego Natural History Museum, and director of Jewish Studies at SDSU. Held at SDSU's Aztec Hall of Fame and auditorium, the attendees included five faculty emeriti as special guests, 20 current faculty members, several Arts & Letters student leaders, and over 100 alumni and their guests. The reception included a buffet of hors d'oeuvres, dessert and beverages as guests mingled and were reacquainted. Robin Luby, president of the Arts & Letters Alumni Chapter, initiated the presentation by introducing Paul Wong, dean of the College of Arts & Letters. Following Dean Wong's remarks, Dr Levitt Kohn spoke of the intriguing discovery and ongoing restoration efforts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The presentation was followed by an enthusiastic question and answer dialogue.
